Miter Me This, Miter Me That with Marly Bird
Learn how to knit the building blocks of the knitting world. The mitered square has long been a staple in knitting design, and now it will be a staple in your knitter's toolbox. These magical mitered squares are knit in a variety of stitches. In class, learn how to make one in garter, a mix of garter and stockinette, and plain stockinette as well as a variety of center decreases that can be used to create the dividing line down the center. Also, these squares are joined as you go making miters the perfect traveling project for any knitter.
Yarn: 2 contrasting colored, #4 (worsted-weight) yarns (no cotton or BLACK yarn) at least 150 yards each; 5mm/US8 needles 24" circular; stitch markers (both solid and removable), tapestry needle
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
