Making the Most of Mitered Squares with Myra Wood
Mitered squares are so much fun and so easy to knit! Let's explore! Try a wonderful join- as-you-go technique that includes squares, rectangles, right-angle/L shapes, and 4 squares at a time. We’ll also work squares on point and create patterns with different color placements and layouts. See what a difference color choice and stitch pattern can make.
Size 7 straight needles. 40-50 yds of smooth, worsted weight yarn. (no 100% plant fibers but wool blends are
ok), 2 removable stitch markers, small scissors.
Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
Knit and block a 4” garter square with any one of the colors, bind off and steam block just to relax stitches. Do not stretch
