Morphing a Mobius with Candace Eisner Strick
A mobius shawl? What the…… ?? It’s true; it can be done, and you get the geometric beauty of a mobius framing your face. Factor in the added benefit that it will keep your shawl on your shoulders through a hurricane! In this class we will learn the super-easy cast-on to start your mobius from the spine and work outwards. Learn when and how many stitches to bind-off so you can morph directly into a shawl. The knitting is pleasant and easy to do, and it yields spectacular results.
Note: Must be familiar with circular knitting.

Supplies
About 2 ounces of any weight yarn (no lighter than dk weight) circular needle 47 inches in length (this measurement is the cable portion plus the needle tips). Nothing shorter or longer will work. Bring a size that is one or two sizes larger than the recommended size on your yarn ball band.
Note: Please bring a circular needle that has a thin cable. If your cable portion is kinky, please straighten it by running through hot water before you come to class. You will be much happier in class!

Knitting Basics including sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles and crochet hooks of various sizes.

Homework
Using any yarn and using a separate needle, cast on 9 sts. Knit one row, marking off the center st (k4, pm, k1, pm, k4). Keep a small ball of yarn attached.
