Choose Your Selvage with Beth Whiteside
Selvage is the name we give to the first and last stitches of a row. These stitches are the transition stitches between one row and the next, and often not as nice and neat as their sisters in the middle. What’s a knitter to do? Learn more about them! There are methods both practical and decorative for working those edge stitches, and reasons for choosing one method over another. In class you will learn when to use a garter instead of stockinette selvage, how to work a chain or slipped-stitch selvage, and how yarn overs can be used to make a pretty decorative edge.
#4 (worsted-weight) yarn, 20-30 yds in solid light or bright color
