Basic Foundation Paper Piecing with Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill
New to Foundation Paper Piecing or need a little help to master this technique? Have you tried paper piecing and consider yourself "paper-pieced challenged"? Learn tips and tricks to paper piecing while working on a fun, easy pattern entitled Deco Daybreak. Sheri will walk you through all of the steps while demonstrating tips and tricks for staying organized, working efficiently and achieving precise alignments. We’ll also review finishing the quilt top and quilting tips. This workshop is geared towards the beginner or those who are challenged by paper piecing. Inspiration for the Deco Daybreak quilt came from art deco architectural details. The design incorporates the repeat of foundation paper pieced blocks, eliminating the need for tricky Y seams traditionally needed to achieve hexagons.
Note: Machines provided for in class use.
_Sewing Basics: Needles, Thread, Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Tape measure, Seam ripper, Pins.
Preparations are required to allow maximum sewing and learning time for class. Once registered for this class, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the class number to receive a PDF with supply list and directions for purchasing Deco Daybreak pattern online ($10), fabric selection and light prep work.
