Fox Paw Technique with Xandy Peters
In this class you’ll learn the basics of knitting with stacked-stitches and begin a Fox Paws Wrap. The real secret is that it's not a difficult pattern once you get the basics of stacking stitches down.
This increase-and-decrease technique creates vertical movement within a row. Unusual shapes result, forming extreme waves within striped colorwork – without strands on the wrong side of the piece.
First we'll learn the stacking technique by swatching in an easy pattern. After all this hard work, we'll take a coloring break to explore color choices and plan the color order.
In the afternoon, we will start our Fox Paw swatches. While testing yarn and color choices, we'll also learn ways to read our knitting and fix any problems that might arise at home.
Note: Patterns will be provided.
_Multiple solid colors of worsted-weight yarn (scraps are fine) for swatching
_Size 8 (5mm) 20 circular needles with flexible cord; additional sizes may be helpful
_5 colors of yarn in (mostly) solid colors in the weight of your choice for a project
_Circular needles with a flexible cord in a corresponding size to your yarn and a few adjacent sizes —metal or plastic needles are strongly recommended
_Locking stitch markers
_Digital row counter
