Whirly Swirly Lightning-Fast Drunkard's Path with Ebony Love
Only two things are keeping you from making a drunkard’s path block: cutting them and sewing them! Ebony shows you easy ways to do both. See how easy it is to cut the curved units of this versatile block using a fabric die cutter. Learn a radical technique for piecing curves without pins, glue, or other fancy tools. Once you get the hang of the technique, you’ll learn how to arrange your units into a variety of exciting blocks, such as this whirly swirly block. Leave class with one block pieced and your brain swirling with new ideas!
Note: Must have experience piecing an accurate 1/4" seam.
Note: Die cutters and sewing machines provided for in-class use.
Quilting cotton: 9 fat eighths in assorted prints (one duplicate is ok), 3/4 yard of white or neutral.
Pair of serger or other long-handled bent-nose tweezers.
Cut each print fabric into a 5 1/4" x 6 1/2 rectangle and a 4 1/2" x 8" rectangle; cut 9 rectangles of each size in the white or neutral.
Materials fee: $15 includes use of fabric die cutter and pattern to complete 80" x 92" quilt top.
