Stitch and Click (Payment Plan - Local Attendee $795 - $245 now, $245 Feb 15, $355 Mar 15) with Shannon & Jason Mullett-Bowlsby
It’s never been easier to share your creativity with the world than right now. Within minutes of finishing your creations, you can click away and upload your photos to your favorite social media website or sales page faster than you can say Polaroid! Just put your hand in your pocket (or bag), pull out your mobile device, clickety- click, then share! Regardless of whether you are proud of your work and just want to show it off, or you make a living by selling your hand-made goods, nothing is more disappointing than finishing a FAB project and not having an equally FAB photo. Now is the time to learn how to take photos that accurately show off your creative work.

Don’t have an expensive camera or fancy photography studio equipment? No worries! Bring your camera (ANY digital camera... DSLR, point-and- shoot, pocket cam... it’s especially important to bring your camera phone or tablet!) and we’ll provide you with simple tips and tricks for using what you have around the house to create compelling photos. Learn lighting techniques that help you take the best photos of your fiber work and learn how to make smart choices for picking good lighting. We provide tips for creating the perfect setting and composing FAB shots. We’ll walk you through DIY tutorials for creating professional photography equipment. Then, to prepare you to take your photography to the next level, we’ll share our resources for purchasing equipment — all without breaking the bank.

There’s a planet-wide audience waiting to see all your photos: Ravelry, Etsy, personal websites, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram—these resources are unrivaled and growing. We’ll help you decide which services are best for you and your work and how to produce (and post) rave-worthy photos that will have the whole Internet clicking “Like.” Whether you are a proud hobbyist or a professional maker, we’ll help you make the best choices for where and how to share your work.

Included in this 15-hour workshop are two photo walks and a FAB Saturday afternoon scavenger hunt where the techniques from class are used in real- world settings to help develop your photographer’s eye!

Finally, we answer the burning question... “How do I use all those sliders and buttons to edit my photo?!?” We’ll walk you through the world of photo-editing apps and software and share our step-by-step post-processing workflow, teaching you how to achieve pro-level results with digital photos taken using any camera! We demystify everything from cropping and re-sizing to color correction and fixing common problems.

Knitters, crocheters, quilters, sculptors, woodworkers, indie yarn dyers... all crafters, come ready to learn and have fun with FAB photography at Camp STITCHES with the Shibaguyz!

Payment plans: Each payment includes a $10 service charge.
