__Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
Make 2 swatches in a classic, light- to medium-color yarn. Swatch 1:Cast on 24 stitches and work a few rows of stockinette fabric (RS knit, WS purl). Do not bind off, leave live stitches on needles.
