Shorty the Short-row Bear with Laura Barker
Shorty is a colorful 4″ teddy bear which uses German short rows to create a big round tummy, a bottom so the bear can sit, no-sew ears, pointed toes, curved arms, and contrasting colored pads on the hands and feet. The body is worked sideways then stitches are picked up to add the appendages. Shorty is the Baby from my Three Shorty Bears pattern, and can be substantially completed in class, using approximately 4g of each of 5 colors of worsted yarn found in a mini pack or selected individually. The class includes full Three Shorty Bears pattern as a free download with instructions for the Mama & Papa bears, using the remainder of the mini pack, about 100g total.
Supplies
__5g each of 5 colors OR 25g of a single color of worsted-weight yarn__3.75mm/US 5 needles with relatively sharp tips (for working flat AND for small circumference rounds; so include dpns or your choice for working in the round) __Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes Homework
