Take Brioche to Another Level: Mix Yarn Weights and Fibers with Courtney Spainhower
Once you've mastered the basics of brioche knitting--2-color brioche flat or in round--what's next?
Brioche creates a lovely, stretchy, squishy, and highly textured fabric, but if you use different fibers or combine yarn weights, a whole new dimension opens up in your knitting.
Discover how plant fibers, mohair, and silk can change the look and feel of brioche fabric. See how the fibers' innate qualities can be enhanced by the brioche stitch. We'll also address potential pitfalls of using fibers that lack natural elasticity.
We will swatch, combining two yarn weights and two yarn textures. And we will begin to see how vast and pleasing brioche fabrics can be when pushed to another level.
Must be able to knit and understand basic Brioche Stitch.
