Knitting with Beads, Every Which Way but Loose with Myra Wood
Bead Knitting and Beaded Knitting; what's the difference? Find out, along with learning how to add beads to your knitting using different pre-strung bead techniques. Bling up your knitting and make jewelry too. We'll start by learning how to add pre-strung beads to yarn and how to string your own beads for multi-color patterns. We'll move on to the logic of knitting with beads -starting with the easiest methods, building up to more intricate patterning and how to place it into circular and lace knitting. We'll work on a sampler so you can experiment with the various methods in class, and you'll leave with complete directions and a pattern for knitting a scarf with beads. Supplies
_Two Size 1 (2.25mm) double-pointed needles_100+ yds fingering-weight yarn in wool, acrylic, or wool-blend in solid or semi-solid color (no variegates) _Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes Sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with an eraser, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needles (large and small), flexible tape measure, small calculator, and needles & crochet hooks of various sizes.
