Dreaded Frontal Droop
How to avoid a droopy buttonband
By Meg Swansen
Email: meg@tds.net

     Description:
DFD (dreaded frontal droop) usually refers to cardigans whose front borders hang below the level of the rest of the body.

This is remedied by knitting-up fewer border stitches when adding the buttonband -- or, if the edge is knitted onto the the body as you go, you can compensate by not knitting the border-sts every inch or so.

A DFD cardigan may be fixed after-the-fact by working EZ's Applied I-Cord up the front, around the neck and down the other side. I-Cord is non-stretchy and may be completely regulated by pick-up ration and gauge.

Short rows across the back are to prevent the DRU (Dreaded Riding Up).
