Class Title: 1st Choices
Status: Please see our Schedule for other open classes.
Teacher: Sally Melville
Skill Level: Easy
Description: No matter how accomplished we are as knitters, we run the risk of producing garments that look awful. Why? We make a decision in the first 20 minutes of the project that dooms it to failure! Which decisions? Yarn, color, stitch pattern, and silhouette. Then work with basic pattern drafting, so even if you don’t design your own garments from scratch you’ll be able to make a more flattering neckline, a sleeve the right length, a garment that fits.
Basics: Basics*: Sharp scissors; blunt tapestry needles (large & small); small calculator; pen/pencil/eraser; notebook & paper; stitch markers; flexible tape measure; crochet hooks of various sizes.
