Description:
Using traditional Shetland techniques and patterns, this light-as-a-feather scarf can be made in as many colors as you wish. Using laceweight yarn, incorporate a lacy edge, faggoting, the traditional Shetland pattern of cockleshell, and a beautiful scalloped border. You will make a sample size scarf from authentic Shetland lace weight yarn. Materials Fee: $5
Basics:
Basics*: Sharp scissors; blunt tapestry needles (large & small); small calculator; pen/pencil/eraser; notebook & paper; stitch markers; flexible tape measure; crochet hooks of various sizes.
Supplies:
Basics*, 3.75 or 4mm (US 5 or 6) single ndls (or circ, for working back & forth); st markers. Materials Fee: $5
Homework:
2 swatches of garter, about 3� x 2� in any wt yarn, & left on st holders. Do not BO! (To practice grafting). 1 yd of contrasting yarn; tapestry ndl.
