Knitter's Paint Box Competition Winner, Anne Cromack

Anne Cromack from British Columbia, Canada, is the winner of
Knitter's Paint Box Colorway Design Competition.

During June our online audience was encouraged to submit their color concepts for review through the KnittingUniverse.com's Web Feature, Knitter's Paint Box, to compete for the opportunity to have their design featured in Knitter's Magazine, Winter 2006.

Cromack chose Sandstone (left), designed by Georgiana Estafania for Knitter's 76, Fall 2004, originally knit in Babaajoes' Heather with Oatmeal trim. Anne took a symmetric color-blocking approach to the design, working with each structural piece. The judges were wooed by her bold and clear colors. See the result in the Winter issue of Knitter's. Congratulations, Anne!

Try your hand at Knitter's Paint Box any time. Thanks to all who participated!

Here is an interesting site where you can see UFOs (unfinished objects) put to practical, and not so practical, use. It seems a group of 11 knitters have canvassed, or more accurately, yarned their respective areas with splashes of color and texture from their own stashes of UFOs, and created for the occasion, works. See their slide show and read about their efforts at www.knittaplease.com.
