Here's a quick mid-year confidence builder. These cute caps are not just for cold weather anymore. Let your long hair hang forward, or let your short hair peek out all around, pull it low over your forehead and you're ready to meet the fashion world on your own terms! Thank you to Nicole Sorenson for submitting this design. The Skill This simple tube-knit cap is knit on circular needles. Once the cap is 7" long a continuous series of Knit 2 together's rapidly close off the top. You can probably knit it in the morning and wear it in the afternoon! You will need:
Cast on 40 stitches. Join stitches by beginning to knit the first stitch cast on. Make sure the stitches are not twisted on the circular needle cable. Decrease round On first round, k2, k2tog (knit 2 stitches, then knit 2 stitches together) until you get back to the beginning. You should have 30 stitches. Knit around until there are about 30 rounds, or until your knitting measures 7" from the beginning. Closing the top K2tog (knit 2 stitches together) until you have 4 stitches remaining. Pull the yarn through all 4 stitches and knot. Roll the brim up. How about a scarf to match? (See September, and keep knitting until it's the length you like.) |
