K106—Special effects: making the most of your knits with surface design Add extra dimension—through cables or slipstitches. I-cord—Passementerie trims, ties, or borders. Embroidery—add color and interest with duplicate stitch or decorative stitching. Beads—knit-in or sewn on for added glitz. Inks and dyes—stencil, paint, or spritz. Woven looks—stitch designs or maybe added yarns woven through dropped, slipped, or purl stitches. Appliqué and trompe l'oeil—3-D effects. Other ideas? Working on something that you love and think might work for Knitter’s, even though it doesn’t fit within the theme...send it. We love great ideas. Submissions due: December 10th (earlier is even better) Projects due: January 16, 2012 Please send sketch, swatch, and bio.
Call for Designs
All submissions should include a swatch, sketch or picture of the project, and description of the design and techniques it will use. A short biography of the designer is helpful.
