Hello Fiber Enthusiasts!
Happy First Day of Spring! We’ve decided to open up registration for STITCHES Midwest 2013 next week! This is going to be a great event. If you’ve never been to this beautiful venue (The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center in Schaumburg, IL), you don’t know what you’re missing. Registration will open next Wednesday, March 27 at 9:00 am (central time) online.
If you’d like to look through the STITCHES Midwest 2013 classes, events, packages, and ETC workshops via our online registration system (which will allow you to search by teacher, day, and/or subject), we have turned on the preview mode for your convenience. You can also download the 58 page 17 Mb PDF of the STITCHES Midwest 2013 classes, events, and ETC workshops brochure in zipped PDF format (complete with bookmarks & hyper-links), or you can view the brochure as separate JPEG files either on our Knitting Universe Facebook page, Knitting Universe Google+ page, or as a set on Flickr.
Note: If you’re on an i-device of some kind please use this PDF download link so that you can open the brochure up in Apple’s iBooks.
We’ve got a great Midwest show planned for you. Out of the 134 classes we’re offering, 78 are brand NEW to this venue. And, of course, these 134 classes (13 of which are crochet or crochet friendly) are being taught by 37 of the best designers and teachers in the Knitting Universe, including new teachers to STITCHES Midwest… Anne Berk, Carson Demers, Janel Laidman, Anne Kuo Lukito, Esther Rodgers, Lizbeth Upitis, and Daniel Yuhas.
We’ve also got a ‘killer’ Opening Day program for you…Living & Dyeing with Color–An Adventure with Laura Bryant.
We invite you to travel with Laura Bryant, the creative force behind Prism Yarns, as she shares highlights from a lifetime of knitting, crocheting, sewing, and weaving. Follow a road that begins in tradition, evolves into fine textile art, and then blossoms into hand-dyed yarn and color expertise. Her journey spans four decades and ranges far and wide across media, pushing boundaries at every step.
She’ll share the inspirations, sources, and thought processes that stamp a unique signature on her artwork, color ways, and designs.
Get inspired to integrate life experiences into your knitting. Embrace the world. Allow a holistic approach to spur you onward.
We’ve also included two-day Midwest 2013 ETC workshops in this PDF brochure and online preview. ETC is an abbreviation for “Explore your creativity, Transform your knitting, and Challenge yourself!” The idea is simple…these are two-day workshops with true masters that are held on the Sunday and Monday. You pick one teacher, one workshop and stay with them for the two full days (with a limit of only 20 students per workshop).
At STITCHES ETC an expert is at your side, guiding you through new skills and helping you gain confidence. You’ll have time — not just to hear the words and try the techniques, but also to create a plan, and do it yourself — for a peak fiber arts experience. This is your chance to indulge yourself in this 2-day CREATIVE EXPERIENCE with one of our four amazing instructors.
We hope you’ll join us for an incredible weekend and maybe stay one day longer through ETC.
There’s so much more we could tell you about this show, but we’ll let you download the brochure and see for yourself why you can’t miss this incredible weekend!
That’s all for now. We can’t wait to see you at STITCHES!
P.S. STITCHES South 2013 in Atlanta, GA is coming up in just 3 weeks. We still have some openings in our classes and events for this show. And we've got a great Market planned with some amazing vendors. We'd love to see you there!
We wish to thank STITCHES Midwest 2013 Sponsors for their support!
