I never meant for it to happen. . . That project that I momentarily set aside has become a UFO (an un-finished object, as they say on KnitU). I never meant for it to happen like this. Something else looked a little more interesting. . . I was only going to do it for a little while, it didn't "mean" anything. And then there was that new yarn that finally came in. . . And it's not that I don't like the first project. . . You know how it goes. I think someone should write a book: "The Hedonistic Knitter." You get to see the beautiful project, and you get to buy the gorgeous yarn, you get to work out the pattern, but the instructions never go beyond the first few inches. When you get to that point, you just go to the next tantalizing project. The way I've been knitting lately, I may already have this book, and I don't even know it! On the road again? Stop in at your Web-based ShopFinder before you hit the road to find out what the roadside attractions might be. You'll find ShopFinder under the Athena tab. You can search by state to narrow down your pickings to those on your route. Don't forget an extra needle! Wander the Web The knittinguniverse.com is "tabbed" into sections. As with any universe, the shear vastness can be staggering. Here's a quick cheat sheet: Universe (homepage):

Seen & Note on KnitU Date: Tue, 10 Dec 2002 19:43:51 -0500 HEY, I realized that Knit U began 4 years ago from Dec 8th or something to that effect! How many of us have been subbed from the very beginning? Some of you may have noticed how I frequently evoke answers I've written in past Knit U's. As a reminder, the Knit U archives is a wealth of info & has a search engine. Also, don't overlook the tips on Athena that Anne Claxton so very patiently puts together! Happy anniversary, Knit U. - --David adds-- Lily, KnitU would not be the same had you not so generously contributed to it from its infancy. Your vast knowledge, ingenuity, and generosity or spirit are as awesome as your talents as a designer. I think I can speak for just about every subscriber to KnitU when I say Thank You! Learn to knit in September, how to purl in October . . . Guess what we're doing in December! Take a look! Watch for a new class each month! ___________________ Natalie Sorenson The previous XRX Insider Linkletter was posted December 2, 2002. |
