February 25, 2003 volume 3 issue 2 Stitches West in Oakland, California is winding down. The die-hards are still eking everything they can out of the Etc. classes. If you were there you were the first to have the new Jean Frost Jackets book, hot off the press! There were some unexpected finds in the Market and most found something they couldn't live without. Tell me your Stitches Story and we'll all share in the fiber fun. Read about them in the Events department below in future issues of the XRX Insider. Stitches Events. . . What a wonderful way to share the love of a thing, especially when the thing is such a earthy, growing, giving thing. And for the record, it's also a dynamic, creative, expressive thing, too. I guess that's why Stitches events fill up earlier and earlier every year. I can't wait to hear from YOU! Click on my picture below to email me your Stitches story. You will find "Natalie" listed under "Other Players." Here's what's happening in the Knitting Universe Universe (homepage):

Seen & Noted on KnitU [24] Hi Everybody, I have a question - What is popular to knit in your neighborhood? Here at the LYS I am working at, we cannot keep in stock enough yarn to make scarves, or needles in size 15 and up. We are always being asked about the novelty yarns like eyelash (one newbie called it tear), charm, and all the other trendsetter yarns. We cannot keep anything like that in stock and are constantly getting phone calls every day asking what we got it in that day, or the same people are coming in daily. If the UPS guy comes and people are there, they will wait until the boxes are open. It is a yarn madness that boggles my mind! It is so bad that some of the customers have not even walked into the second room. Is it like this where you are? Where are all the sock knitters? When will Happy Knitting, You can respond to Linda by posting to KnitU. ___________________ Natalie Sorenson The previous XRX Insider Linkletter was posted February 1, 2003. |
