Have I got a yarn for you. . .

At Camp Stitches East the question was posed, "What yarn would you be?" It is an excellent question, and the farther you carry the analogy the more entertaining it becomes!

Are you warm and fuzzy, kind of plastic and stiff, tough to work with, or a joy to hold? Some knitters, I mean yarns, are a little unpredictable, tend to give undesirable results, or they have irregularities-- wonderful, surprising personalities, that you can get to know and love. I'm sure we all relate to some yarns better than others, but have we become the yarns we love? Or do we choose the yarns that describe us?

Well, for better or worse, I would have to be Lopi. I guess that makes me a little abrasive, but colorful!...and available in several weights! (?)

What do you think about these yarns chosen for themselves by the gathered experts at Camp Junaluska?

Laura Bryant: Super Dazzle

Lily Chin: Wild Stuff

Margaret Fisher: Something glitzy

Jean Frost: Cashmere, of course!

Galina Khmeleva: I would be qiviut!!

Sally Melville: Goddess (Lily: "I goddess yarn, and I dunno what to do with it!")

Rick Mondragon: Touch Me

Debbie New: I'd be an unpretentious yarn, without any makeup

Judy Pascale: Chenille

Merike Saarniit: Handspun (Merike updated her answer from Eros to Handspun-- makes sense to me!)

Candace Eisner Strick: English angora

Here's what's happening in the Knitting Universe. . .
