The XRX Insider
Hello Stitches Marketeers!

This is a Happy Day in the Knitting Universe.

We are pleased to announce the New Knitting Universe! Our pages, from screen edge to screen edge, have been redesigned with YOU in mind.

No more scrolling to get you where you want to go.
Our home page, and all of our department pages fit on a single screen. You will become familiar with the common look of the site, and the color themes for each department.

See the breathtaking images from Knitter's Magazine and XRX Books come alive with Flash.
Animated flash elements load faster than static conventional images. With Flash we are able to unify what different browsers display. We can really have fun with the visual elements of the Knitter's shots, utilizing motion, depth, and layering in our presentations on each department page.

For those worried about download time, don't be! Many elements are saved, and in the future, only updated elements will need to be loaded.

Athena has been redefined, and Community will cover many types of knitting networks: KnitU, KniTalk, also Groups & Guilds, and the Knitter's Calendar.

You're going to love the simplified navigation.
The footer will have many hard to find elements in easy reach: Find all corrections, for both the magazine, and books in the Help link; Contact a number of departments directly from Contact; Find web features like slide shows, Knitter's Kids, Knitter's Paint Box, and One Good Yarn.

You’ll see clearly what you can find in each department, in a consistent structure, that closely reflects the old arrangement. If you find youself at a loss, the SEARCH will search both the knittinguniverse.com and stitchesmarket.com, and list the results by department/category, so you will know where it is hiding when you return.

New Web Features
Most of these elements have been available through side doors in various departments of the Knitting Universe, but some are new. All of them are exclusive to our website, and often work in conjunction with Knitter’s Magazine, and XRX Books.

Please have fun with the added features to Knitter’s Paint Box: a simplified interface to get you painting faster. Look for Module Maker, coming soon, specially created for XRX’s upcoming book Module Magic by Ginger Luters (preorder now online).

Enjoy the new arrangement, and let us know if we’re working for you.

Virtually Yours,

Natalie Sorenson
