Make a Bear. Make a Difference.
We are proud to join forces with the Mother Bear Project at STITCHES West 2008 coming up in Santa Clara, CA – February 21st to the 24th at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
The Mother Bear Project sends hand knitted bears to children in Africa that are affected (in some way) by HIV/AIDS to bring them comfort. Each bear is sent with a heart sewn on it and a tag with the knitter’s name. We invite you to get involved with this worthwhile (and fun) project.
Here’s how you can help…
Knit a Bear before STITCHES.
Go to http://motherbearproject.org/Pattern.htm to get a pattern.
(The $5 pattern donation finances The Mother Bear Project.)
Bring Your Bear:
If you finish your bear bring it to STITCHES West 2008, and drop it off at the Mother Bear Project booth in the STITCHES Market.
Mail Your Bear:
If you’re not coming to STITCHES, you can send your bear (and $3 to help with the shipping) to…

How About A Little Competition?
We challenge your knitting guild or knitting group to participate. The group with the most bears knit will be recognized at STITCHES West 2008 and will receive a gift certificate for $200 to purchase XRX Books for the the group.
With your help, we can turn these bears into smiles!
