Kennita Tully
Kennita is a teacher, author, and freelance knitwear designer, whose work has appeared in every leading US knitting publication. She has also designed for numerous yarn companies. She currently self-publishes her own pattern line under the name of Wildflower Knits and teaches both across the country and internationally. After breaking her wrist in 2017 and unable to knit, she reconnected with tapestry weaving, her first love, and is eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for this wonderfully creative medium.

1668 No skills required Tapestry 101: Beginnings Learn how to warp a simple frame loom, learn the importance of tension and selvedge control and become familiar with tapestry-weaving terminology. You will begin weaving heading and working Soumak to separate the warp threads, then try simple horizontal and vertical stripes, spots, blocks of color, slits, diagonals, and curves.
We will also discuss warp and weft choices, sett, sources for materials, and finishing methods.

Tapestry is a wonderfully creative medium requiring little overhead and equipment costs. Besides being another outlet for creativity, tapestry weaving also uses up odd bits of yarn!

1669 Easy Tapestry 201: Beyond the Basics This class takes some of the techniques introduced in Tapestry 101 and explores them for a deeper understanding. Additional techniques such as hatching, distorted (eccentric) wefts, and outlining will be covered. 

Note: Must have basic weaving knowledge and skills OR have taken Tapestry 101.
