Betsy Hershberg is a life-long knitter whose knitting world was turned upside down and inside out when she learned how to bead knit in 2002. As ideas for combining beads and fiber began to take over her knitting brain, she found herself on a completely unexpected journey which has forever altered the way she thinks about her 'left-brained' self and the creative process. She shares some of these discoveries, along with unique bead-knitting techniques in her book Betsy Beads: Confessions of a Left-Brained Knitter. Betsy takes enormous pleasure in teaching, feeling it is especially rewarding to help knitters reach new levels of technical knowledge, confidence, and independence that will free them to explore their own individual creativity.

ETC Intermediate Adventures in Bead Knitting Land
Let's spend two entire days together, playing with beads and yarn! Here's the deal: You bring lots of great '¬úbead-able'¬Ě yarns from your stash and an assortment of your favorite glass, seed beads, and I'¬ôll share tons of bead knitting techniques, bead-worthy stitch patterns and project instructions for both a fabulous stretchy bracelet and belt we'¬ôll work on in class. And the best part? These projects will each be one-of-a-kind because YOU will design them! Lots of time for discussions about color, yarn and bead combinations, as many "What if's"¬Ě as we can come up with and some left-brained creativity talk along the way.
Important: Must have experience with and be comfortable working in the round on four double-pointed needles.
Materials fee: $25 for metal belt buckle, 2 sizes of elastic, and a beading needle.
