Advanced You should have made several garments in various stitch patters and should comfortable making minor changes to patterns. Advanced is fun and challenging for thinking knitters.

Ginger Luters
Ginger Luters is a Northern California based designer of knitted wearable art and a nationally known creative knitting teacher. She has an MA in Fine Art and taught knitting, weaving, and design classes at Saddleback College in southern California for 12 years. The author of the book, Module Magic, which focuses on the unusual designs and construction techniques for which she is known, Ginger designs for several knitting magazines and yarn companies.

Tunisian crochet is often described as a combination of knitting and crochet. While this technique usually produces a dense, rigid fabric, by using a large crochet hook and several stitch variations a soft, drapey fabric suitable for scarves, shawls, and other garments can be created. Note: Must be able to work chain stitch and single crochet.

682-3 Intermediate Magical Mosaics
Mosaic knitting is a special form of slip stitch knitting, a fun and easy way to introduce color and geometric pattern into your knitting. Although the finished patterns often look complicated, the technique is fairly simple, using only one color in any one row. We’ll knit some maze-like patterns and then consider ways in which we can vary these patterns, both by changing the charts and by playing with color.

After learning the basics of Tunisian Crochet, it's fun to explore some of the many additional possibilities with this fascinating technique. In this advanced class, we'll work with lace stitches, textured pattern stitches, and color work. Entrelac, double ended reversible and modular techniques will also be discussed. Note: Should know basic Tunisian crochet including creating a foundation row and Tunisian simple stitch.
