Susan Lazear
Susan Lazear is a Professor of Fashion at Mesa College in San Diego where she teachers various fashion courses including Textiles, Patternmaking, Textile Design, Clothing Construction and Fashion History. Susan designs wearable art, mixed media clothing (e.g. sewing and knitting) and is a computer graphic artist. In addition to her teaching she combines her skills in the creation of a line of software for knitters, sewers and textile artists under the Cochenille Design Studio name. She has taught fashion and design workshops around the world.

348-6 Easy Will This Pattern Fit? Love to knit, but don't know if the pattern will fit? Learn how to translate the knitting instructions into measurements and then compare them to your body to determine if the garment will fit and if alterations are necessary. Students will measure themselves and work on several patterns to determine and calculate the fit according to their need. Choosing appropriate styles for your figure will also be covered.

349-3 Easy It is all about Me! Walk through a series of exercises and activities that will help you determine what styles and which knit fabrics work with your figure, face, and lifestyle. Working through this process in a classroom filled with other real bodies is empowering. You'll see beyond the measurements to proportion and discover the magic of garment shape and line. We'll explore a variety of topics that will help you make better design decisions and allow you to actually wear the garments you knit!
