Thursday 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
132-3 Easy Untwisting Intarsia
Let Jane untangle the misconceptions of working Intarsia—start with simple a vertical stripe from a diagram and not a chart; secure ends and join new colors without knots! Advance to chart work, the logic of a little planning and placement to make the colors work for you! Of course Jane will have colorful sample garments and will show how very simple graph work can have stunning results.
Friday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
368-3 Intermediate Designing with Miters
Take a designer's journey with Jane and mitered squares. First, step out of the square by seeing it as a mitered diamond. Add increases for A-line and Swing and decreases for Jane's flattering fit and style. Jane talks about how she has learned to accommodate and manipulate the limitations of miters into A-line and Swagger styles, showing garments from her book Swing, Swagger, Drape—all with two-row stripes!
Saturday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
685-3 Easy Traveling Textures with Bobbles and Bells
Explore and understand simple textures from moss stitch to cables. Learn how to read your knitting in relation to instructions and simple graphs and how cables, bobbles, and bells bring dimension to the surface of the knitting. Jane will show garments and demonstrate how she uses textures within most of her designs. This class brings many elements together from knitting texture to understanding how texture is used by designers.
Saturday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
684-3 Easy Cables and Zig Zags
This class is for students ready to use their cable needle for more than cables—traveling stitches! Great things can happen once we get the stitches travelling across the knitting—diamonds even! Join Jane and learn to not just read the pattern but read your knitting too—turn the lights onto your needles! Jane will show sample garments and show how texture is involved with shaping garments for A-line and swingcoat. Be sure not to forget your cable needle!
