599-3 Easy Inside Intarsia
Intarsia allows a knitter to create motifs, stripes and geometric shapes in any direction, controlling fabulous color effects. Intarsia is fun when done efficiently and this class will teach you the techniques, tricks and tips to de-mystify the process. Class project is a bag which can be felted. Students will have the choice of three charted motifs, or they can design their own.
Friday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Friday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
598-6 Intermediate Argyle Socks
Argyle Socks are classic and have a timeless appeal—especially for men. They have a unique construction, because they are most efficiently knit flat using the intarsia technique, and then joined and knit in the round following the gussets. Mattress stitch is used to invisibly join the leg and the instep seams. This class will have samples, charts and instructions for all sizes, from baby socks to adult male, and will show how to modernize the Argyle using new yarns and fun color combinations. Learn to do intarsia, read a color chart, work duplicate stitch, invisible seaming, how to knit a gusset heel flat, ways to knit and close a toe, and how to weave in ends efficiently.
Saturday 8:30 am - 11:30 am SOLD OUT
908-3 Intermediate Intarsia with a Twist
For the intrepid knitter who is told that something is difficult or impossible but wants to do it anyway, Intarsia is easily knit flat, but there is a way to create seamless intarsia in the round. It is tricky, but once you know how, it is very manageable. This is knitting magic at a high level! Class project is a tube that can be finished into a bag, a Christmas stocking, or a hat.
