Thursday 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
926-3 Intermediate Twisting with the Cable Girl Fiona would like to teach the whole world how to knit cables because she LOVES the technique! In this workshop she will show you how to twist in a number of different ways, how to read charts, and how to add cables to simple projects for stunning details. This workshop is a must for newer knitters who love the look of texture or for knitters who need a refresher with a twist.
Friday 8:30 am - 11:30 am Friday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
136-6 Easy Tints, Tones and Knit Two (colors) Together Many knitters find it difficult to choose colors. This class will show you how to put color theory into practice, so that those scary sounding terms make sense. You will look at color temperature, tonal value, complimentary and analogous color schemes, along with many other terms. And once you get playing with color you will see how the theory can be a helpful underpinning. In combination with the color exercises, instruction will be given on the techniques used for working with multi-colors—stripes, Fair Isle, intarsia, slip stitch, etc.
Saturday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm     SOLD OUT
927-3 Intermediate Celtic Cables When knitting cables based on Celtic patterns, you will find techniques that you may not use in regular rope cables. While you knit a sample to try them out, Fiona will demo the techniques, show you how to read the charts—including looking at the symbols used — and for the more advanced cable knitter, discuss how you might modify patterns to make them your own. With an understanding of what is taking place when cabling, you will be better able to follow a pattern or fix any mistakes as they arise. (That never happens, right?)
Sunday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
135-3 Easy Jump Starting Your Creativity Fiona is fascinated by the creative process and has spent many hours studying how to jump-start her own. In this workshop she will share with you some of the methods she had found useful. Work on a creative exercise during the workshop and receive tips that Fiona hopes you will find helpful on an on-going basis.
