Basic Know basic stitches (knit, purl or single crochet, double crochet).
Easy You should know the basics, how to increase and decrease, and have made at least one project.
Intermediate You should have worked with a few stitch patterns and should be familiar with basic garment shaping.
Advanced You should have made several garments in various stitch patterns and should be comfortable making minor changes to patterns. Advanced is fun and challenging for thinking knitters.
Susan is a Professor of Fashion at Mesa College in San Diego with over twenty years experience teaching design, pattern making, textiles, and other design-related courses at a college level. She also designs wearable art and is a computer-graphic artist. A line of software she has created for Cochenille Design Studio combines her skills.

3106 Intermediate Fashion Transformers
This class combines the Asian fashion art of combining simplicity with innovative style. Learn how to plan and knit garments that offer multiple looks in one piece. Turn it upside down, wrap it in a different way, reposition it on your body; all options should be considered. Students will measure, and plan 3 garments during the class. Yarn, stitch choice, and finishing techniques as they impact the style will also be covered.

3107 Intermediate Calling all Collars
Collars continue to be a major fashion trend. In this class we will begin by looking at fashion neckline treatments from European designer clothing. Then we will study the basics of collar design, in general, and for knitwear. Learn how to plan and draft a variety of collars, cowls and hoods, considering the neckline, fashion yarns, and desired fashion statement. Also learn how to redesign or adapt the neckline of an existing pattern to allow the collar style of your choice.

7074 No skills required Fiber Art Jewelry
Got left-over yarns? Some basic knit and crochet skills? Why not try your hand at creating fiber art jewelry. This class will cover the creation of various types of yarn-related beads and trims. Students will learn a variety of techniques to take home but should leave with one finished piece.
Materials Fee: $5.00 (to include beads (for covering), assorted materials, clasps, yarn, etc.)
