Edie Eckman
Edie Eckman is a designer, author and popular teacher who loves both knitting and crochet. She teaches around the country and is the author of a number of best-selling crochet and knitting titles including The Crochet Answer Book, Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs, and most recently, Christmas Crochet.
As a teacher, designer and technical editor, Edie is on a mission to ensure that patterns are as clear as possible to the greatest number of knitters and crocheters as possible. She is a lifelong learner and considers her students the best teachers.

7067 Intermediate Spreadsheet Savvy Let your computer handle the math! Spreadsheets are perhaps the most powerful tool for a knit or crochet pattern writer or tech editor. In this hands-on introduction to spreadsheets, we'll use Microsoft Excel to learn the basics of how spreadsheets work, including naming cells, completing metric conversions, rounding numbers, and setting up basic formulas that calculate stitches, rows, stitch multiples and yarn amounts. You'll begin setting up a powerful, multi-use "calculator" that can save you hours of work.
