Back To STITCHES South 2014 Class List

Friday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
5103 Intermediate Surprisingly Special Techniques Learn techniques that Anna has found more useful than she might have imagined. Central is the perfect buttonhole...and it is a perfect buttonhole. There is also a k1, p1 rib with neat, even stitches; easy wrapping for clusters once, twice, and thrice; knitting backwards with two colors—never purl fair isle again. Other hints which are more or less arcane.
Saturday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
1029 Easy Color without Theory A hands-on workshop of choosing colors and combining them in different proportions and different stitches. No thought will be given to any consideration other than what pleases your eye—and we will experiment until we find something pleasing. An especially useful workshop for the color-fearful, as I was once myself.

6067 Advanced Deconstructing Stitch Patterns Many beautiful stitch patterns are too difficult to follow because they are written out stitch by stitch, and one cannot comprehend the whole. The mind revolts. In this class we will take complex patterns, chart them (you'll never have difficulty with charts again), and analyze their components. You will then not only be able to follow them, but to judge before knitting whether they will be easy or demanding, pleasant or frustrating, and best worked flat or in the round.
