Antje Gillingham grew up in Germany and learned to knit at the age of eight. In 1982 she moved to the central coast of California, where she lived for the next 17 years. When her husband's job relocated the family to Tennessee, she rediscovered her infatuation with fiber and all that is knitting.
Antje is the author of three best-selling books and has published patterns in several knitting magazines.
Over the years, her travels have taken her all over the country, and along the way she has made many new friends who all share the same passion for knitting. It is these wonderful, like-minded souls who continue to inspire her to design, write and teach.
When she isn't traveling or teaching at a variety of knitting workshops, she can be found relaxing at home...with knitting in hand.

5037 Intermediate A Fair Isle Cowl
Fair Isle or stranded knitting is the technique used to work patterns with multiple yarns and colors in a row or round.
There are several ways to work a Fair Isle pattern but we will specifically explore holding a yarn in each hand and weaving in (tacking) the yarn floats behind the pattern as we go along. Once conquered, this is one of the fastest and smoothest ways to knit Fair Isle. The magic word to success: Practice, practice, practice.
Friday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
5121 Intermediate Koonter Boont: Entrelac in the Round
You've seen entrelac from the distance, perhaps even admired its colorful rectangles with just a little envy. You watched timidly as it stood tall and self-assured, taunting you with its many many picked-up stitches. Join me and make its acquaintance! Entrelac is a marvelous technique and will empower you to pick up stitches fearlessly, ...nay...joyfully, from any side of your project with ease! It will nurture your creativity and become the stepping stone to a world of endless color and pattern combinations. Oh yes, and it will help you bring into being...only the cutest little shoulder bag ever!!!
Saturday 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Saturday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
4020 Intermediate 2-at-a-Time Socks on 2 Circulars Toe-Up
Try a new take on knitting two socks at a time on two circular needles, and work them from the toe up! Take the guess work out of how much yarn you'll need for your socks by trying them on as you go! No more counting rows or stitches and no more single socks in your drawer!
Practice each section of the sock anatomy from toe to cuff during this workshop. We won't be able to knit a complete adult pair in one day, but at the end of our time in class you'll be able to go back to your hotel room, cast on and start working on your very own spectacular pair of completely identical socks at the same time.
