Deborah Jarchow
After many years of teaching knitting and crochet, Deborah discovered weaving in 1996, and her love of fiber, texture, and color came together. Since then she has worked full time as a weaver and artist, including teaching fiber arts, creating and selling wearable art, giving lectures, and showing in local, regional, and national exhibits. Deborah's work has been exhibited at galleries and museums across the country, and she has won numerous awards and written articles for national publications. Her work has been commissioned by churches and is in many private collections. Since 2004 she has been an artist in residence, teacher, and weaver at Studio Channel Islands Art Center in Camarillo, CA. 
Deborah loves helping knitters discover the joy of weaving. Her class Rigid Heddle Weaving Beyond the Basics is now available on Craftsy.

In this class, you will see three of the top brands of looms and find out how they work. You will learn about setting up the looms to prepare for weaving, and then you will weave on them.
This class gives you an overview of how weaving can expand your fiber skills. It is the perfect opportunity to give weaving a try without purchasing the equipment. See just how easy weaving can be!

ETC No skills required Hand-manipulated Weave Structures By twisting or wrapping your warp yarns you can weave distinctive textures and patterns in your cloth. Learn to weave lace-like open areas as parts of a design throughout the fabric or as a notable edge treatment. Discover how to highlight your patterns by adding a thicker yarn or ribbon. On the first day while making a sampler, you’ll learn how to make leno, brooks bouquet, medallions, and other fancy patterns.
