No skill required
Basic Know basic stitches (knit, purl or single crochet, double crochet).
Easy You should know the basics, how to increase and decrease, and have made at least one project.
Intermediate You should have worked with a few stitch patterns and should be familiar with basic garment shaping.
Advanced You should have made several garments in various stitch patterns and should be comfortable making minor changes to patterns. Advanced is fun and challenging for thinking knitters.
Margaret has been in the needlearts business since 1973. She owned her own yarn shop for 12 years, and was needlework instructor for Bloomingdales for 9 years. She has written 23 books on knitting and crocheting. Some of the most recent ones are The Complete Photo Guide To Knitting, The Complete Photo Guide To Crochet, Lace For Adventurous Crocheters and Runway Crochet.
In addition to the books, she teaches at many venues all over the country, at national conferences, for guilds and local yarn shops.
Last year, Margaret was inducted into the Jean Leinhauser Crochet hall of fame.

1045 Intermediate Fabulous Free Form Knit/Crochet
Students will make a small bag, while learning how to combine knit and crochet in a wonderful free-form method. While it is fun to combine, if a student is only comfortable in one or the other, it is still ok to take this class. Students will learn to line and complete their bag. With an extensive booklet and the inner lining for their bag, students leave with the knowledge to finish on their own.
Materials fee: $3.00
Note: This class begins on Thursday afternoon and concludes on Friday morning.

8055 Easy Glorious Grannies
Learn to make traditional Granny Squares and as many variations as time allows. We will cover different sewing methods, the invisible joining method, and many uses for this time honored technique.

5144 Intermediate Patchwork Knitting Beyond the Square
Students explore patchwork knitting using shell and kite shapes in addition to the usual mitered square. Booklet has explicit instructions for completing these shapes and instructions for a bag using the different methods.
