Mickey Depre
Mickey Depre was introduced to fiber arts by her own personal “grand masters” at the age of four. Grandmothers, great aunts, aunts, and her mother filled her days with cloth, needles, yarn. Then in 1997, she discovered quilting.

As she made a name for herself as an art quilter—with a flair for the whimsical—she made traditional quilts for her family, Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Emily.

English Paper Piecing has become a slight obsession for Mickey and has lead to the publication of Pieced Hexies. Via English Paper Piecing and Beyond, she has put her own spin on this quilting tradition.

And now she has traveled “a full circle in her quilting life” with her latest book, Half-Scrap Quilts. It features patterns for traditionally pieced bed quilts that show off her favorite half-scrap palette.
