Pamela Leggett has been teaching sewing since 1981. Specializing in pattern fitting, fine garment-sewing skills, knits, and serging, she has developed a fun and informative teaching style that is available in her patterns and instructional DVD's.
One of Pamela's passions is creating garments that flatter and fit the wearer. Her desire to teach others to achieve the perfect fit led her to the Palmer/Pletsch pattern-itting method, which she has used to help hundreds of women successfully achieve good fit and a renewed love of garment sewing. It is with this knowledge that she created Pamela's Patterns, which have many fitting solutions and adjustments built in the patterns.
Pamela's Patterns have been reviewed and featured in magazines and on-line review sites. Pamela is a contributing writer, book author, and DVD personality for Threads Magazine, an instructor for Craftsy online classes, director of the Palmer/Pletsch Philadelphia and Connecticut Sewing Workshops, and a national sewing/serging educator. She has also appeared on PBS’s Sewing With Nancy and Canada’s The Shopping Channel.
Pamela lives in Connecticut and has a teaching studio in Vernon CT.

9046 Lecture/Demo Custom Dress Form Lecture
A dress form is a useful tool for garments and design. The problem is getting one to fit all your curves. Custom forms are expensive and can't be easily altered, and duct tape forms collapse over time. I will show how to "build and pad" a standard adjustable form to look just like you, using a bra and undies, batting and fiberfill, and bandaging from the drug store. The best thing is that you will be able to change the dress form as your body changes!Â
Friday 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
9047 No skills required The T-shirt and Sweater Makeover
Do you have collections of those oversized T-Shirts from vacations, school activities, concerts, etc? Even though they might have a super cool logo or design, you probably only wear them to bed or for cleaning the house. Now, thanks to Pamela’s Patterns, you can turn those big T-shirts into fitted and stylish tops you’ll be proud to wear anywhere! The technique is simple and fast. Just think – in no time you could have a whole new wardrobe of cute tops!
Bonus – Pamela will also show you how you can do makeovers on sweaters, polo’s, cardigans and more!

9048 No skills required Custom Dress Form Workshop
A dress form is a useful tool for garments and design. The problem is getting one to fit all your curves. Custom forms are expensive and can't be easily altered, and duct tape forms collapse over time. In this class, we will use an adjustable form that you will "build and pad" to look just like you! Other than the dress form, the supplies are simple - a bra and undies, batting and fiberfill, and some bandaging from the drug store. The best thing about this form is that with the skills you learn in this class, you will be able to change the dress form as your body changes! We'll finish the form with a custom cover. You will now be ready for your fitting and design challenges.
