Trendsetter Group owner/designer Barry Klein has been knitting for 40 years. He started by working in his family's knitting store, where all patterns were designed for the knitter's body. For the past 25 years he has worked as an industry teacher, doing knitting classes all over the world.
Barry has designed knitwear for magazines, television shows, ice skaters, and movie stars; authored 5 knitting books; and worked as a spokesman on Knitting Daily and other television knitting shows. He loves to share his love of yarn and everything that can be done with it. Barry has been voted one of the Top 10 Men who Knit/Design throughout history.

8070 Easy Tunisian Crochet from Beginning to End
This class will take you through all of the basic techniques of Tunisian Crochet. We'll begin with yarn selection, proceed to changing directions, and explore variations from there. We will look at accessories for the home, wearable garments, and different styles of Tunisian Crochet and how they will fit into your future.
Note: Must have a good command of basic crochet skills.

3146 Intermediate From Sewing Pattern to Knitting Pattern
When you begin with a sewing pattern as your template for a sweater or cardigan much of the proportion and silhouette work is done.
We'll break into groups, open up patterns, and discuss the conversation from sewing to knitting â€“talking about yarn choices, pattern stitch options, swatches, and swatching, and ideas to make it all work.Â Once swatches are done, we'll talk and work the math to turn the sewing pattern/template into a knitting pattern.

3014 Intermediate Top Down and All Around
Learn the basic techniques for knitting from the top down. We will jump right in and start working on a small sweater which might fit a 1-year-old or Teddy Bear. During the class, we will talk about variations, different techniques, and different ways to knit from the top down. Barry will cover various increases, yarn selection, a bit of math and more. When class is over, you will have a partially complete sample with the elements complete so you can understand the full process, potential, and you will be ready to design a top-down sweater from scratch using your measurements.

TT46 Easy My New Miter
Normally miters begin with a cast-on. Barry jazzes it up by picking-up into the border of a special yarn. The result is a fun edge treatment that completely eliminates any problem of too-tight cast-ons. Learn how to use this exciting trim yarn, work decreases that create a visual element that flows from miter to miter, and emphasize the diamond shapes with easy color changes.
Materials Fee: $5 for an assortment of yarns.
Supplies: Straight or circular needles in US 7, 8, 9 and 10.
