Katrina Walker is a designer, educator, and author known for her expertise in textiles, construction techniques, and modern American pojagi piecework. Her work is featured in many magazines including Threads, SewStylish, Stitch, SewNews, and Creative Machine Embroidery. She is a popular instructor both at national sewing shows and online, where her classes for Craftsy, Taunton Workshops, BurdaStyle, Craft University, and Craft Daily have enrolled thousands of students worldwide.
When she is not creating in her studio, Katrina travels to spread her love of sewing with Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking sewing machines.

Successful garment sewing requires great fit! Learn the steps to fitting your bodice and identifying required pattern adjustment areas. You have a basic patternâ€”now what? Learn the skills to add design details and change style lines. It's easier than you think! In this hands-on class you will learn how to move darts, add yokes, and create princess seams. With these skills you can create many looks from the same basic pattern! Build a detailed reference notebook full of samples to take home for creative inspiration.

Silk is simply a dream to sew once you learn her secrets. In this class you will build a detailed reference notebook as you learn about the most common types of silk fabrics, and create step-by-step samples of specialty seams, seam finishes, and hems appropriate for use with elegant silk designs. Appropriate pattern selection, a silk fabric vocabulary, and best uses for silk fabric types will also be discussed. This entertaining and educational class will inspire, invigorate, and inform your passion for sewing with silk.Â
