Lisa Myers
After almost 20 years as an LYS owner, Lisa is the US distributor of Manos del Uruguay yarns, which is a great gig but doesn't offer nearly as much teaching opportunity as she'd like.

Author of The Joy of Knitting and The Joy of Knitting Companion and co-author of Knit So Fine, Lisa has
designed for national magazines and yarn companies.

She lives in Philadelphia, travels the country promoting Manos yarns, and leads tours to Uruguay for knitters to meet the Manos artisans and see how the yarns are made.

NEW
Thursday 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
1626 Intermediate Intro to Lace Knitting From the simplest eyelet accents to the most complex gossamer-weight shawls, lace patterns create some of the most beautiful knits there are (and sadly, some of the most intimidating.

Like any knit, it's really just composed of a small number of basic elements. All you need to create lace is a yarn-over and a couple of different ways to decrease (though an ability to read charted patterns is a great help).

This class will teach these basic elements and the fundamental principles of combining them as well as how to read a lace chart. We'll take a developmental approach that gives you the ability to "read" your knitting.

Join Lisa and learn the art of making deliberate holes in your knitting!

Note: Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, and "read" knits and purls on the needle.

Sunday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
1518 Easy Intro to Double Knitting Double knitting makes a fabric that is reversible and has stockinette on both sides. When worked in two colors, the opposing sides produce a positive/negative look.

It lets you work stranded-color patterns that have no "wrong side", so the length of the floats doesn't matter! The work lies flat without curling at all. Imagine the possibilities: cozy cowls, scarves with no wrong side, beautiful baby blankets with no floats to catch little fingers or toes!

Best of all, it's not difficult. This class will teach you the basic techniques to get you started working double flat or in the round: casting on, managing edges, following color patterns

Note: Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, 'read' knits and purls on the needle, and follow a knitting chart.
