Thursday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
1503 Intermediate Steeking Workshop (Cutting a steek without fear or fainting) Stranded sweaters are currently trending in the fashion and knit world. So lets's celebrate them by learning ways to make them with little stress. This workshop will help you understand intricacies so you can avoid mistakes and navigate the hurdles.

Our goal is to knit a lovely patterned fabric by stranding with yarns with two hands or both in one hand. Whether you are Continental and English knitter doesn't matter.

We will learn to read a chart and see when we need to catch floats as well as how to make, cut, and secure the steek. We'll learn how to work button bands and buttonholes.

We will see the relationship of stranding to gauge, and how yarn-dominance plays into the color patterning within fabric. We will discuss casting-on and binding-off, I-cord, mattress stitch, and even blocking.

Note: This class begins Thursday afternoon and ends Friday morning.
Friday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
1499 Intermediate Scandiwork Slippers This is an intensive Colorwork Class. Students will learn how to knit and purl with two colors at once. Pattern is included for either Ingeborg, Hansdatter, Christian Peter, Oldsdatter, or Lotta.

We will have a Continental/English knitting style refresher course. Knitting with one color with each hand or two in the left hand will be covered. At least one slipper will be completed in class.

Techniques beyond color work will include increasing and decreasing (ssk and k2tog) in color work, catching floats (while knitting and purling), reading charts and patterns, crochet edge, and assembling slipper together with instruction on gauge, fit, felting, and embroidery.

Note: Students must be able to knit and purl with confidence.

This class begins Friday afternoon and ends on Saturday morning.
