Fair Isle Tam: How Color Is Used in Fair Isle Knitting with Janine Bajus
You've always wanted to design your own Fair Isle but just don't know how to start? This class is ideal for you. Starting with a classic Fair Isle tam pattern and a pre-defined colorway means you don't have to worry about choosing all those colors. As you work a series of swatches, you'll learn how color is traditionally arranged in Fair Isle designs and see how changing the colors affects the look of the pattern. Then I will walk you through the steps to fill in the entire tam chart—each will be unique. With these skills you are well on your way to designing a traditional Fair Isle sweater or vest.
Some experience in stranded knitting and knitting in the round is required.
Materials fee: $46 for pattern and enough yarn to knit 3 tams; choose from 7 colorways.
