One-day Skirt with Cal Patch
Make a skirt in one day! In this 6-hour class, Cal will show you how to cut from a pattern and sew a classic, flattering, A-line skirt. She provides the pattern; your bring your machine. You will learn how to sew darts, seams and seam finishes, hems, invisible zippers and bias-tape facings - all elements you need to begin making your own clothes. Note: Machines will be provided for use in class. Skirt pattern and will be provided for in-class use. Supplies
__1-1/2 yards of medium-weight woven fabric,such as printed cotton, denim, etc. Fabric should be pre-washed and dried (as you will treat your handmade garment) to reduce or eliminate shrinkage.__All-purpose thread to match __1/2" single-fold bias tape to match (you can make your own, but it must be made before class) __7" (or longer) invisible zipper to match __Tailor's chalk or other marking tool __Basic Sewing Kit: needles and thread, sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with eraser, flexible tape measure, seam ripper, and pins. Sewing machine with regular foot, irons and ironing pads, regular AND invisible zipper feet.
