Simple Stacked Scarf with Xandy Peters
Students will learn the basics of knitting with stacked stitches. Stacked stitches are increase and decrease techniques used to create vertical movement within a row. They create unusual shapes in knitting and extremely wavy, striped colorwork without strands on the wrong side of the fabric.
After an introduction to the basic principles of the technique, we will cast on a scarf or swatch and discover how each row of stitches fits together to form a flat fabric. We will learn how to move markers to keep track of stitch count and learn to fix mistakes.
Patterns will be provided.
_#4 (worsted-weight) scrap yarn in multiple colors, and 3+ colors of #4 (worsted-weight) yarn for those who want to start the scarf project in class
