Sewing with Silk with Katrina Walker
Silk is simply a dream to sew once you learn her secrets. In this class you will build a detailed reference notebook as you learn about the most common types of silk fabrics, and create step-by-step samples of specialty seams, seam finishes, and hems appropriate for use with elegant silk designs. Appropriate pattern selection, a silk fabric vocabulary, and best uses for silk fabric types will also be discussed. This entertaining and educational class will inspire, invigorate, and inform your passion for sewing with silk. Note: Sewing machines provided for use in class. Supplies
_Sewing Basics: Needles, Thread, Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Tape measure, Seam ripper, PinsHomework

Materials Fee: $25 Fee includes detailed reference notebook, all silk fabrics used in class, spool of silk sewing thread, microtex needle, glue stick for mounting samples, and use of instructor’s fabric-folding pens during class. |
