Crocheting with Beads with Marly Bird
Marly shares tried-and-true techniques for adding beads to any crochet project. Learn two methods: pre-stringing beads and adding a bead onto a single stitch. Best of all, you can complete a beaded necklace in class! Become a capital C crocheter and add a little pizzazz to your work with beads!
Materials fee: $15 for crochet necklace beading kit and supplies.


Supplies
_1 ball of sport-weight yarn in a light color
_Sharp scissors
_Blunt tapestry needles (large and small)
_Crochet hooks of various sizes.

Homework
With worsted weight yarn, in a light color work a Griddle Stitch Swatch: Ch 22.
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, *sc in next ch, dc in next ch. Repeat from * to last ch. Sc in last ch, turn—11 sc, 10 dc.
Row 2 Ch 2, (tch does not count as st here and throughout) *dc in first sc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * to last st, turn—10 sc, 11 dc.
Row 3 Ch 2, *sc in dc, dc in sc. Repeat from * to last st. Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until swatch measures 4”. Finish off.
