Converting Basic Garment Patterns to include Short-row Shaping with Grace Akhrem
Learn the basics of short rows and the difference between traditional short rows and Japanese short rows. We will discuss and learn how to include short-row shaping at the shoulder and neckline to create a nice clean edge as opposed to a jagged one. It makes seaming and picking up stitches easier and neater. Together we will convert a basic pattern to include short-rows shaping. After this class every student should be able to work at least two kinds of short rows and convert the neck or shoulder shaping of any pattern to include short rows.
Note: must be familiar with cast on, knit, purl, ssk, k2tog, and yo.
