Initial Here: The Art of Personalizing Your Stranded Knitting with Denise Bell
Make a fair isle garment your own by putting initials and date somewhere in the garment. Finding a discreet place that won't detract from the overall appearance is key.
In this class we'll look at and discuss interesting places to insert them and how to fit them into the available space. Note: Students must have basic knitting skills and some experience with stranded or fair isle knitting. Supplies
__Two to four small balls of contrasting colors in same fingering-weight wool as swatch.__US 2/2.75mm needle, circular or straight. __Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes Homework
With fingering-weight wool and size 2 needles, cast on 26 stitches and work 3–4 rows of garter stitch.
